Au cours des dernières séances photos organisées par Sweet Willie, c’est Bernardo ou Samantha qui se chargeait du côté créatif, du concept et de la direction artistique. Mais pas cette fois-ci! Nous avons décidé de passer le flambeau à nos créatives et compétentes coiffeuses, Kat McClelland et Karen AllAn, pour concevoir tout ça. Elles ont vu aux cheveux de nos deux mannequins,
Nicky fournier et Amena ahmad,dont la coupe, la coloration et la coiffure. Bernardo Fernandez s’est chargé de la photographie, les vêtements ont été fournis par nos voisins et amis, General 54 et Citizen Vintage, et Samantha a agi comme styliste.
Pour cette séance, nos conceptrices ont choisi d’explorer le thème de la sorcière moderne; thème que nous baptisons « Saison de la sorcière ». Pour ce faire, nous nous sommes rendus au magnifique Parc de la Visitation dans le nord-est de l’île de Montréal. Normalement, quand la pluie se manifeste, on a tendance à plier bagages pour se mettre à l’abri. Mais pas cette fois-ci parce qu’elle s’insérait parfaitement dans le thème. La pluie, le lieu et le thème ont fait heureux ménage; à la fois sombre et lumineux, doux et dur, des éléments naturels et construits.
Kat s’est inspirée de la légendaire Stevie Nicks à la grande époque de Fleetwood Mac au cours des années 70, tandis que Karen s’est laissé porter par une interprétation contemporaine de la sorcière, plus courante dans la culture actuelle. Le résultat : un séduisant contraste de styles. Ce contraste se manifeste dans la juxtaposition des vêtements contemporains et vintages, mais aussi dans le travail de notre maquilleuse Marcela Hernandez qui a combiné des teintes plus naturelles sur notre mannequin Amena avec un maquillage plus sombre et sévère sur Nicky.
Un projet fait avec amour, une équipe de feu, de la bonne humeur et des mannequins prêtes à tout. Dans l’espoir que ça transparaisse et que vous appréciez le résultat. De nouveaux projets créatifs suivront sans doute!

In the past when Sweet Willie has done photo shoots it has been Bernardo or Samantha who do the creative, conceptual and artistic direction. But not this time! We decided to give the reins over to our talented, creative and capable stylists: Kat McClelland and Karen AllAn to come up with a concept and an artistic direction. They did all the hair, including cut and colour and all of the on set styling for our two models

For this session, the ladies decided on a modern Witch theme that we are calling, 'Season of the Witch'. We drove out on location to the North East tip of the Island to the gorgeous Parc de la Visitation. Usually when rain happens during a shoot we call it quits, but not this time, thematically it worked beautifully for us!
The rain, the setting and the theme coalesced so perfectly that day. Dark and light, hard and soft, elements of nature and manufactured.
Kat, using the icon Stevie Nicks from her 70's Fleetwood Mac days as inspiration, and Karen channeling a more modern interpretation of The Witch that we see in the culture at present, resulted in a beguiling contrast of styles.
This paradox was also, reflected in the clothes and make-up. For the clothes a mixture of modern and vintage styles and with the make-up, our make-up artist,
Marcela Hernandez, mixing natural tones on our model Amena and harsher darker more sinister make-up on Nicky.
It was a labour of love and we had a great team, good spirit and game models. We hope that it shows and that you all dig it! More creative projects like this to come!
